WOOAAAHHH HORSEYYYY…SLOW DOWN
Try doing the speed limit: it might be fun.
Ok here we are again…before I go on, I need you to think about what you have done all day…if its not a blur of tasks done at record time, then you probably don’t need to read this, but you have the time to, so please do. If its otherwise then…slowdown and read this.
So what we normally do is wake up and our to do list looks something like this
TO DO LIST:
Then we start running around, doing task after task and we look for more and we are terrified of slowing down, even prayer is done, on fifth gear…we are in , we are out. Its sad when you think of it, we jump from one thing to the next, and although we would like to think, there is some logical transition and what we are doing is rational, truth is we are moving about like a beheaded chicken, waiting to fall in our graves. Sorry for the visual there but it had to be done…to drive the point home.
As Allah mentions in the Quran
Surat Al-‘Anbyā’ 21:37
“Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me.”
And in the Hadith
The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Calmness and patient deliberation is from Allah and haste is from Satan” (Tirmidhī).
STOP and think, look at the big picture, what have we done so far? Where are we? And where are we going? Are any of these things we are rushing off to, related with Pleasing Allah or gaining Paradise?
If not we need to learn to start separating what’s urgent from what’s important. It’s a skill worth developing quick, fast and in a hurry. This one you can do in a hurry.
Slowing down also trains us to be patient, good things come to those who wait…Well, work then wait, don’t just wait…
Yup that’s about it. Have a nice day…calmmmmmm dooowwwnnn…sssshhhh everything is going to be alright… take it easy Ok?. Allah is here for you.
Ayt, I gotta go now, there is like 1000 things I gotta do today. – Kidding…haaaaa almost got you there huh…
It’s actually a million things…but who cares… 🙂
Love you all for the sake of Allah.
