This seems very logical; I mean if you really think about it, Allah Created everything and controls each and everything, literally. Every minute detail, every second of everyday and knows everything.
Quran Surat Al-‘An`ām 6:59
“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.”
So why do we find it so hard to trust Allah sometimes?? It’s quite a phenomenon, considering humans regard themselves as rational beings. Knowing all this, rationally we should always trust Allah. But I found out as you probably have, that it’s a lot easier said than done especially during difficult times.
It’s hard at that point to tell yourself “Trust Allah, Allah only does what’s best for US”, its all part of the plan.
Quran Surat Al-‘Anfāl: 8:30
“And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”
I asked a friend once what it meant to have tawakul (Reliance and trust in Allah), and he said it is to accept whatever Allah decrees for you as the best for you.
It made a lot of sense to me then and basically kind of answered my question, but not to complete satisfaction, why? We will never know…
Though it was partly because of the logical reasoning that trust Allah or not, what has been decreed will come to pass, so why Trust? What difference does it make?
It took a while but I realized why we need to trust Allah, why we have been told to, and why Allah loves those who trust Him. Simply put, the fact is Allah knows us better than we know ourselves.
Quran Surat Al-Baqarah 2:216
“Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”
And the second part is for us, trusting Allah gives us peace of mind, calmness, not just for now, but even knowing that whatever happens in the future, Allah knows what’s best for us, so stick to Allah and everything will be fine.
Allah never disappoints His servants, so whatever we don’t have today, Allah has kept a better thing for us tomorrow, whatever is taken from us, wasn’t good for us, and something better will be brought to replace it… whatever it is we asked for and we haven’t gotten it yet, as long as we are patient and trust Allah, what is coming is going to be very much worth the wait.
Bottom line, trusting Allah only gets better with time. Try it… I’m joking I know you do…kinda… seriously though…aahhh you get the point.
Umm..Yea One more thing
“[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.” (Qur’an, 73:9)
Love you all for the sake of Allah
